Unmarked Cooey rifle?

My uncle picked up an old single shot 22. Its identical to my Cooey model 75, but his has no makers marks of any kind on it. I don't know if it's a good copy or for whatever reason Cooey didn't mark it. Anyone have any idea?

I also have seen an unmarked Cooey... why not being marked 'Cooey' is a puzzle. I am sure there are more.

Possibly made for a small retailer who did not want to pay extra for their own "brand". Remember that back in the day, they were not required to have serial numbers. If they weren't required to have serial numbers, why would they be required to have any markings, other than the chambering. I would think it must have that, at least. If not, were all markings polished off when refinished?

When whinchester bought cooey there was a while where the cooey 84's were left unmarked whit no stampings on them. Mabey the same for that model as well?

absolute in correct when winchester bought cooey serial numbers were required that came came into law in 1968

Here's a different take on why there's no lettering, if the markings weren't scrubbed.
Maybe the barrels were borrowed from the Cobourg facility before they went to the stamping department.
Just a thought.
