Unpacking my first pistol: M&P 9

Nice purchase!!! I've been doing my research on my 1st hand gun and leaning on the M&P 9MM as well. Have heard nothing but great things. Researched on the Glock 17 Gen4 and Spring Field XDM and the new Walther PPQ that just came out recently. All in all i think the ergos, look, and fairly light recoil thats been said on this handgun gives it a 2 thumbs up. Have fun!!!!

Got My christmas presents today. Norinco CQ-A 14.5" and The M&P 9 range kit.(Yeah My wife loves me!) I was so pumped to try both of mine out tomorrow but what do you know.... range is closed Tuesdays. oh well. Obviously I agree that its a good choice. That being said, My kit only has 3 mags. Jealous!

congrats on the M&P... I remember when mine looked so purdy... the Apex parts are worth their weight in gold... give it a try if you can...
Cheers,

I think the Apex trigger assembly kits are a good option. I may go that route. Before I decide to drop money on it, I would like to put at least 500 rounds through it and see how it feels after its broken-in.

It's an M&P. Out of the box it goes bang every time, can run dirty, slams shut when you ram a mag home when doing reloads and the little bullet goes where you aim the sights. And yes, it's the one that feels best in my hands.

Stock up on ammo and enjoy. Enough said.

Just got my identical kit a few weeks back, feels good, changeable back strap is great. Trigger didn't feel too bad at all, not sure of the pull though if you want actual #'s. Mag loader is the cat sass! Works on old chicom 9mm just great too! seems to be very good when doing a 5 round rapid fire, groupings stay as tight as I can hope for with my limited training! Mags drop free, 10th round is a bit tougher to get in, 10 rounds in a mag need a little extra love to get back in, slide doesn't release when full mag gets jammed in. Easy to clean. Had one mag that showed up with a base plate out of alignment, would only take 6 rounds until 20 second fix of base plate sorted it out. 200 rounds in no time flat! I like this gun, fits my hand, comes with accessories that i would have had to buy extra anyway! Congratulations!

Went to range today to check out my 9mm. 15-20 misfires from 100 rounds. Using MFS rounds ( according to the box made in russia) $12.95 box.
Most misfired rounds did fire on the 2nd attempt and 3 or 4 needed a third before firing. The majority occured during the first 50 rounds. Probably 5-6 on the 2nd box.
When I examined the casings the one that fired shows a different mark on the primer than the ones that did not fire. Both showed that the striker made contact but the fired casings also showed a slight mark in the shape of an V.
I had stripped cleaned and lightly oiled the pistol the day before.
Any thoughts or recommendations?

Started a new thread on its own to maybe get more input.
