Purchased today, an unusual item and looking for more info. Unable to provide picture right now; but will give description.
- single shot, falling block, lever action.
- overall length = 33"
- 18" smooth bore barrel c/w shotgun type brass bead front sight, no rear
sight, just a groove on top of receiver.
- stamping on top of barrel " X.L.SHOT-GUN 38 CAL.C.F. PAT'D JUNE 23 1885"
- 12" pistol grip stock c/w slightly concave metal buttplate.
- there is a 4-digit serial number on front of receiver; visible when small
forend is removed.
- no other markings whatsoever.
