F-Class and Target Rifle Introduction Clinic
When: Sunday March 28, 2010
Where: Clubhouse at Mission & District Rod & Gun Club
Time: 9:00 am until about 2:00 pm
Cost: $25
Facilitators: Brian Mylleville, Len Grinnell, Dave Adams
Topics:
• Introductions
• General range and match safety
• F-Class and Target Rifles (incl. static displays of rifles & equipment)
• Attributes of F-Class and Target Rifles
• Categories of F-Class Shooting
• Telescopic vs. Iron Sights
• Targets and Scoring (examination of a target board)
• Plotting
• Rifle Associations and Local Gun Clubs
Following the classroom session and lunch, the group will move to the rifle range to experience target pulling in the butts and shooting two 10-shot strings at the 300 yd targets. Participants should bring their rifle, shooting equipment including hearing protection and 30 rounds of ammunition for their rifle. If you do not have an F-Class or Target rifle, then bring along your hunting rifle with bi-pod. A few bi-pods will be made available for use by participants who do not have a bi-pod.
Coffee break and lunch will be provided.
