Update on my Sinsinati 12 ga shotty

You seem to have identified the issue - Winchester Target loads. I've yet to meet an ejector shotgun that they couldn't gum up.

If you can track down the Score (Canadian Made) target shells, you can get them for about the same price, and they run a lot more reliably in my semi-autos, and my ejector shotguns.

Cheers! Keep it up, the more people contributing to what we know about all these guns, the better.

Maybe you could polish the chamber

I think it is a problem with the shells not the chamber. They are some really cheap soft metal on them and they are bulging in the chamber .You can actually see the bulge when you look close. I ran Fedeeral field loads and some Kent steel through it and no issues

Remington target loads and even Federal target use that same low "brass" type, zinc, aluminum whatever base...and function fine wherever the Winchester doesn't. Including in the 870 Express.
Maybe Winchester uses some kind of different metal composition or metal quality, I don't know...

I ordered myself a 14" one today, out of curiosity! good thing?
Corwin sells this as a 3" gun, no mentions about 3" magnum...

I've fired 3" magnum slugs out of mine. It worked. Keep in mind though, this is a 5lb shotgun, so with 3" magnums "kicks like a mule" is an understatement.

About 1 min 30 into the vid we get around to the 3" magnums:

We experienced the pain so you don't have to ;)

Your buddy taking one in the shoulder with that slug and proceeding to eject the spent shell into his face was priceless.....

I think the recoil had him contemplating the nature of the universe for a bit.

Recoil isn't much of a deal for a field gun you're only going to shoot a few times in one day. Even with the 3" magnum slugs, it's liveable (although I just can't think of a reason why I'd need it, to be honest). But if I was going to spend an afternoon busting clays, I'd prefer a heavier gun.
