Got a nice Sauer 100 on trade a while ago.

Took it out to the range today, only to find out that it wasn’t ejecting spent brass.

On closer examination, it turns out that both ejector plungers are missing (!)

Yup, just two holes in the bolt face where the ejector plungers should be.

So, any suggestions on who can replace the plungers?

Not something I would have expected.

On the plus side, the rifle shoots quite well, keeping it inside 3” at 200 yards with plane Jane ammo that I had on hand.

Suggestions on competent ‘smiths or, better yet, local dealers, would be appreciated.

Pictures of my Sauer 100's bolt face (and ejectors)

Like both of them just gone? Do you have pictures of that? Just curious.

This should be Canadian distributor, ask them for parts.

Have some photos. The ejectors appear to simply be missing.
I can email the pics, if you're interested.

Its just...strange. I can't really believe the rifle left the factory like that. At the same time it would take an effort for some one to take both ejectors off they don't just fall off even if you disassemble the bolt.

So they most likely were damaged and fell out and it might have left marks on the boltface.

I have no idea how they came to be missing. The rifle was acquired in a trade from a fellow who said he had not fired it. No reason to doubt his veracity.
So, the question is: how to get them replaced. (I can imagine some curious nimrod punching out the roll pin that appears to be holding them in and seeing the plungers and their springs fly across the room and disappear in the carpet). No biggie. Sh*t happens. The key is to fix the problem.

In the top picture it looks like they're pushed all the way in maybe? Did you disassemble the entire bolt to see if they're stuck down there? I wouldn't be surprised if someone took the bolt apart and didn't put it back together properly. Could be just the picture too.

I would not buy a used rifle from anyone claiming they haven't fired it....good chance they're full of bs and know there are problems. ..just my 2 cents worth.
Hope you can get the parts to fix it.

That was my first thought. I have to find someone who knows how to disassemble the bolt.
If they are pushed in, the question is "how did anyone manage that?" And how do you prevent it from happening again.
The plungers normally look pretty round, so I don't think they are pushed in.

This looks to be the case to me. OP should use a small allen key to push push down on the nose of each ejector and lever them center to their respective bores.
They should pop up if their springs are in there.

Maybe someone didn't want to chase brass when shooting from a bench so removed the ejectors. Never bothered to reinstall when the rifle was sold.

LOL, well someone plowed more than a few rounds through it from the looks if it.
Fire Sauer an email, ask them for new ejectors, springs and pins.

Excellent suggestion! (Have already sent them an email).

In fairness to the fellow I got it from, he said that he also got it in a trade from the original owner.
The rifle shoots quite well, but ejectors would be nice on a hunting rifle.

ya I am kidding (I shouldn't give them any ideas tho)-- I have a couple of the 100XT which I love.
Hope yours is an aberration. They throw the brass so nice.
It does look like they are down there in their holes tho...may just be the picture.

Wonderful (twisted) sense of humour (I was doing a double-take - seriously???)
It's a sweet little rifle and a good/promising shooter.

The Sauer warranty centre has been quick to offer a solution.

So far, so good.
