Update** What rifle to choose?

Remington 700 SPS Tactical 20" barrel in .223 is what I went with. Perfect for the distances you wanted and more. Accurate and relatively inexpensive. Bought mine used in decent shape for $450.

The T3-X is going to be available in several versions with wood stocks. Check out their web site.
 
Hi there, I'm new to the forums so forgive me if this isn't okay to ask but where did you find that? Maybe the area I'm in has a shortage in nice used rifles but I've been keeping my eye open and finding nothing near as awesome as a Remington 700 for that price.

CZ 527 .223 Expensive but no regrets, you get what you pay for.
