Updated Tikka T3x released today

:runaway::runaway::runaway::dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

and that about sums it up for me. I am on a dash to find out what is "new"

Edit:

The modular stock is pretty meh for me. Just glad they changed the goofy checkering, pretty sure only the synthetic stocks are modular. A wooden battue looks a lot better without the weird three indents on each side.

The foam in the stock and improved recoil pad are great.

Never had a problem with the ejection port but I feel like this and the rail mount holes may be for long distance shooters.

All worthy improvements. I happen to really like the current Battue Lite stock and in fact I bought a spare. The new stock does looks better, and the foam insert is a really good idea.
However, the real improvement, IMHO, is the larger ejection port. I am hoping the new design will allow full size brass ejection to fully clear the rifle and not ding the side of the receiver behind the ejection port--which is a problem that I experience with my 30-06 Battue I won't rush out to buy a T3x because of the changes, but there's always a new Tikka in my future.

No idea what this fellow is saying but the T3x looks like they fixed most of what everyone didn't like about the Tikkas.

Metal bolt shroud, different recoil lug, better palm swells via interchangeable grips, wider ejection port.

That old palm swell definitely made me turn away from every Varmint I saw. The only things I can see would be the railed versions still look like they all have 0 MOA rails. Super goofy.

I'd be down for a stainless Varmint in 6.5 swede and a 20 MOA rail to go with it. I wonder when we'll start seeing these in country.

Did they increase in price with these updates ? If so how much ? Or did they listen to their customer base and just improve their product/value ?

I like Tikka's but seems to me they are right at that point of pushing the cost out of the range of being a good buy .... say compared to a Vanguard S2. Are you getting that much more for the cost difference between Tikka & an S2 ?

The larger ejection port, metal bolt shroud and new recoil lug are worthwhile, but the rest of the changes don't mean anything to me.

Not a fan of how that pistol grip looks, kinda fugly.

Oh well, to each their own. If i get a T3X, it will be a wood stock. Maybe they improved the finish, looks nicer.

Anybody hear anything about price on these?
