I just picked up my Marlin GS complete with upgrades. Big loop lever, scout scope, custom stock and trigger work. Turned out way better than I expected. It's hard to tell from the pic but the lever is set into the grip to allow for a palm swell and the checkering is fantastic.

Thanks,
the barrel is not ported and I think I will go without the pad. I like the way it looks with the wood butt plate. Precision Arms did the work.

Gorgeous wood on that GS Sean.

Is that a store bought big loop or did your gunsmith modify the OEM loop?

Love what you've done but a scope on a GG!!!!!! :D

Thanks,

the lever and mounts are Wild West parts. I hear you on the scope but I gave it a try cause I thought it looked cool.

Cheers

What scope did you use? Great eye relief. Whats the caliber? I have a .444 guide gun and love it! Where did you find the wood or is it stock?
Looks really good!

45/70 ..scope is a leupold scout scope. The gunsmith found the wood for me.

That's quite the piece of lumber there... nice.

Palm swell... great idea to help control the recoil of that nice piece of wood...

O.k., nice wood but I don't see the attraction of the large loop.
Do you hunt in deep snow with mits on?
As for a wooden buttplate on a 45-70 that small........hello, nurse! :p
