Upgrading a 870

Hey there,

I was interested in upgrading my 870 to become more of a sport shooter/tactical shotgun, any suggestion for internal parts? and I was thinking about the Aimpoint PRO for an optic.

Wondering if anyone out there has done something similar or if they have any opinions.

A magtube extension and a side-saddle loader are usually the first two things to add.

You don't want an optic on a shotgun. Fibre-optic sights are a better investment.

There's a ton of aftermarket stocks available for the 870. You'll need to find one that suits you.

I put S+J no jam followers, spring and jumbo safety in all my 870 builds

 

[EL34/6L6]

Internal, S&J spring and no jam follower and mag extension.

External, Magpul SGA and MOE stock set for improved ergonomics.

I personally avoid side saddles as I find the gun becomes a little unbalanced on one side. I also like to keep my guns rather streamlined with as little add ons or accessories as possible.
