Upgrading a Browning Lever Rifle

Hi,

I don't know much about the world of customizing guns and I was told that this would be a good place to ask.

I have an older, Belgian made Browning Lever Rifle in 308 calibre that has a lot of sentimental value. My Grandpa bought it for my Dad and my Dad has since given me the gun. It's starting to get a bit worn out though; I've put a lot of rounds through it. I'm a left handed shooter so I really like the lever action. I really like the gun in general; it's light, has a short overall length and it's been very reliable. It's accurate enough for hunting but it could be improved in that area. The trigger is also absolutely terrible.

I'm wondering, is there anywhere that I could send my gun to have it upgraded with a new barrel and trigger assembly? I don't really care if it's not stock or original or anything like that. I'm located in Kelowna, BC if that makes any difference.

Apparently the triggers cannot be fixed. As for the barrel, if it still shoots well, there is no need to fix it. If it is worn out, be prepared to spend a hefty sum of cash to get it replaced, the internet consensus says it will be very very very expensive.
 
"...accurate enough for hunting..." That's how it came out of the factory. A target rifle it ain't. The barrel and trigger were made for hunting and only hunting. If you're not reloading, try some different ammo brands and bullet weights to find the ammo it shoots best.
Only made in Belgium from '69 to '72. So it's not that old.
I suspect the trick would be finding a barrel. Gunparts, Stateside, doesn't list any.
 
Jennings does BLR triggers.
I just had my T-Bolt trigger done.
I asked about the BLR's and he mentioned around
the $150 range.
Plus freight to and fro.
Getting up there is my opinion.
