Upgrading Ruger 10/22 woes

Since all my semi auto rifles are now prohibited, I thought it would be a good idea to sup up my 10/22 .... I already got a TUF22 receiver since I have now many fine optics with no use and might as well stick them on the 10/22

Next step would be a barrel which in turn needs a stock ... getting reasonable stuff will end up at roughly $1000 ..

So far so good, but is this a futile undertaking? There was rumor the 10/22 would be on the first ban list .. well it wasnt , but its maybe likely going to be on the second round and if not the semi auto ban will do it in.

There are pros and cons but I rather not dump money into a gun that will likely banned in the next year or so.

Well everything will be prohibited eventually. If history tells us anything, rimfire will be the last to go.

I’d upgrade the 10/22 if it was me.

its hard to imagine that i have been living with a killing machine in my house since 1984 and its.... to my knowledge..... never snuck out and caused havoc.
thank god the Liberals are here to save me.

I think it would be really REALLY hard to prohibit the 10/22. Because at that point, there is a lot of semi auto .22s from years past they'd have to outlaw as well. Not to mention, you probably have a few million demi auto rinfires in Canada.... as soon as Dlask gets their new run of barrels made and their order of KIDD parts shows up, I will for sure be ordering a TUF 22!

I've called them twice and talked to 2 different people and they both told me they have an order of KIDD parts on the way. Essentially, there was too much "back lash" from them stopping, so they're doing it again. They were just being helled at the border and they were waiting for the US border to let them through.
