I am looking for a new game vest. I am looking for one with the following:

- several small functional front pockets (more the better)
- rear game bag
- preferably not hunter orange

Looking for a quality one at a reasonable price.

I looked at Filson but couldn't find one with a game bag on back... lots with functional front pockets but no game bag.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Fislon "strap vest" or skeleton vest as they are sometime called that
has a rear game pocket ( big enough to hold several pheasants) that I like.
You migh also want to check L.L. Bean & Orvis ... both have decent upland
vests of the type you describe.

Thanks fella's. The upland vest at Cabela's would be my first pick of the choices so far... I just wish it had more little pockets/compartments. Is there such a thing like a tactical vest with a game bag? I imagine if I found a tactical vest I liked that I could sew a game pocket onto it. Does this kind of vest exist?

I highly recommend the Columbia upland vest with orange for safety reasons. It has good deep pockets, bird carrier in the back and loops for extra shells. Google Columbia Clothing and gander through it.

Can't help you... I hate game vests they are a pain in the azz (especially the game pouch)... I prefer a simple waterproof/blood proof shoulder bag. JMO.

I'm not fond of hunter orange on my vest. I only hunt private property where I am the only one hunting, so no need for it. Great picture there!

I've got two filson vests. I like and use them both.

The strap vest with the mesh game bag. It also has blaze orange pockets and back. It game bag is the typical back entry bag. I got this for upland hunting, as it should be better in hot weather.

My other one is their original hunting vest. It does have a game pocket that is front entry. I've had mine for 27 years, and I use it every season.

I'd recommend either one.
