Hi , I am new in Stag 10 NR , I was wondering if upper SR25 is compatible with Stag 10 lower ?
I am planning to build a clone SR25 with Stag 10 Lower

Upper, lower, takedown pin are proprietary

Thats nice of you to provide that literature.

Again. Your wrong hahaha.

Sure they designed their upper and lower slightly differently from the M110 pattern, but the pin hole sizing, location and the receiver mating dimensions are the SAME!

They fit, and they go boom with no modification to the SR25. The only thing that wont work is your STAG hammer, as the KAC Bolt carrier has a 0.25in Hammer cutout. Switch to a KAC or Geiselle trigger in your STAG 10 lower and problem solved.

Your welcome.

Pin sizes are different on the M110/SR-25 and LMT MWS than on the Stag.
Stag pins are smaller by several of thou.
While the SR-25 upper can be pinned to the Stag lower, those pins are essentially swimming in the upper's pin holes.
Not sure if this has any real negative affect on wear or longevity - the only way to know for sure is try it.
I know I'm not going to be the lab rat and see if it buggers up or destroys my KAC.

Hack and slash as I said.

again, your wrong.

How is dropping in a new gesiselle or KAC trigger pack to a lower and mating a bone stock upper a "hack and slash" job? Whatever that means...

FWIW, my associate has in writing from the RCMP permission to use his LMT MRP762 20in upper on his STAG10 for hunting. And he told me its a drop in fit to the STAG. No surprises there, as its a M110 pattern rifle as well!

So to answer the OP's question again, is it compatible, yes. Do you need a gunsmith to make it work, no.

So KAC only or other brands?

Just took some measurements.
The STAG pin sizes are 0.2772in
SR25 Front take down Pin Size 0.281in (STAG 0.279in, 0.002in tighter)
0.0038in Clearance between the 2.

I definitely would not call it swimming.

I have seen BCL 102 factory guns that worked fine with 0.007in clearance.

Forgive my ignorance but why isn't the KAC non restricted?

Simply because the RCMP said so?

As greentips put it a lot has to do with the persuasion skill of the importer to present a valid argument to the lab why it isn't a AR15 variant.

It seems that a lot of importeres automatically assume AR variant based on looks, and didn't even consider to apply for NR status. Even though we all know the definition of variant, as vague as it is, supposed to mean that it is identical mechanically and can be used as if it were the same part.

By this logic, SR25, LMT and most other 308 and 9mm frame AR's should be non restricted as it is not a AR15 variant.

But the lab doesnt follow logical steps all the time. BLAZE47 comes to mind being prohibited as a AK47 variant.

The pin is only proprietary because the detent comes in from the rear and not up from the grip. The slot in the pin is different due to detent location being off in relation to 'other' platforms.
As far as sizing, it's within a few thou and tends to run on the tight side making the Stag a higher quality 'tighter' unit. Rotating the pin was a very wise and logical move on Stag's part when you realize they were trying to tighten tolerances and give more longevity.

Stag receivers are truly a step above the rest.
