Uramex Beretta CX4 storm pellet gun

Held one in my hand a couple weeks ago, pretty neat, they look ok. I think they are actually restricted due to barrel length and pellet speed. I think the guy who owned it told me it was over 500 fps and a 16" barrel.

They have them in the Cabellas Canada catalogue. They sell them under the brand "Beretta" so I'm assuming its the umerix make. Their version isn't restricted. Theres a similar gun from Crossman as well. Slightly different look and specs but clearly an attempt at a clone.

I have one and buy far its my favorite pellet/bb pistol. The quality of of it is amazing and well done, I was impressed with uramex for once. Just makesure you have plenty of spare magazines for it, I have 5 for mine and thats about all I can get from one CO2, so thats 80 shots. the blow back is a nice feature makes it fun, only issue I have is finding a cheap laser sight for the rail, all the ones I have fly off from the blow back. If I get the chance tonight ill give mine a few good shots and post up the pic of the target so you can see how well she shoots.

Ok so I got off my butt and took it out and fired 80 shots. I had to test out my new back drop I just built anyways, Its not pretty but it works!

Heres the grouping I got with RWS Match Grade Steel BBs, I had not pellets but you will get better grouping with pellets. Each Square is an 1 inch by 1 inch.

Sorry about the bad pictures I only have a cell phone camera.

I would take pictures of the pistol for you but my photo skills arent the best so heres a link to some pics I found online from it ww.co2airguns.net/collection/Beretta%20PX4%20Storm/index.htm and and heres a videoclip review ww.pyramydair.com/video/ and select the CX4 Storm, Just dont listen to them about the laser/light they recomment, I tried it and it falls off after everyshot do to the blowback.

I hope this helps you out

WOW! i feel like an idiot sound of read better, I thought you were talking about the PX4 Storm, forget everything I just said............. Sorry for the confusion, just trying to help out.

I bought one for my grandkids, and let another youngster shoot(supervised by his dad) it at the range. They returned it with the barrel stopped up with pellets, about 2" of pellets are actually plugged inside the barrel. I haven't so far been able to unpug it
I only mention this as an advisory and not placing any blame .

Cheers nessy.

Grizzlypeg if your talking about the CX4 it only shoots pellets, The PX4 which I thought you guys were talking about shoots both bbs and pellets, and its the same mag for both. When I get a chance ill do a review for the CX4 I just dont have any CO2 for it right now since it doesnt take the 12 g but the larger 88g

Nessy357 to be honest its problem not the kids, the mag for the CX4 doesnt always line up proper and causes pellets to jam in the barrel, Happens to me all the time.....

There was a problem with the early production CX4s splitting the CO2 chamber between the tank and the trigger valve. Its just made of die cast pot metal. I don't know when/if the problem was fixed.

Buy a Drozd....

For the money, I would go with a drozd. The local dealer here brought one of these in so I actually got a chance to look it over. The mag in these worries me, its a rubber belt on rollers, that in my opionion will stretch. Might be what causes the jamming. I think that when your low on CO2 and a pellet comes half way out, as soon as you try to load another, its going to stretch that belt a lot.

Anyway, Airgun Depot has the new Drozd Blackbird for $379.00 and the the paint ball tank conversion hose is $69.99.

Buy a few thousand bb's and get to havin' some fun.

FYI: The drozd says its only 495FPS but it will explode a full pop can. My 495fps revolver wont??????? I would love to put it on a chrony.

Gord.:D

I was checking out the CX4 Storm today and will definately be getting one. I did not get to try any firing it though. The quality of the build is quite good, full polymer receiver and stock. The weight and feel was excellent. The only issue I had with it was the stock sights, I can not properly aim through them as the rear sight is too close to my eye. I could easily fix this with a standard rifle recoil pad, it would add the extra length to the stock but that I would need. However I think I will get the model that comes with the accessories already included such as the forward grip/bipod, scope and laser/light. Extra magazines will be a definite.
