You're 100% right Chalk. Seems like communication and consistency could definitely be improved for the next match.
I specifically asked if there was a mandatory mag change in stage 1 carbine, and was told no (as were many others). And since it was 3 shots each target for 6 total, I asked if I could use an LAR 10 round mag, and was told yes. I only loaded 6 rounds in it though so the bolt would lock back, saved a bit of time on "clearing" the AR.
As for shooting Stage 1 carbine through the "window" in the wall or beside it, I was told to shoot beside it. Others apparently shot through the window cut-out. I'm tall enough that I could have shot through the cut-out, but there were several shooters there who wouldn't have been able to. Again, a bit of miscommunication from the RO's. In fact, there were instances where you'd be told 1 thing by an RO, and something different from another RO.
Yes about the holster too. I didn't holster because I was told no holstering (and yes, I'm qualified). But the guy who shot right after me *DID* holster.
While it was a little frustrating, I still had fun, and would definitely shoot another match.

In the video on stage one. You fired 6 shots with carbine beside the barrier. Squad one was forced to fire through the port and only allowed 5 round mags. Some being allowed to holster and some not. This playing field was rather uneven. In any match competitors should all be playing by the same rules.
The round count was not even close to what was posted. 16 carbine and 21 pistol, that's not 40 and 40 as was advertised. Feels like the stages were thrown together last minute. The staff running it all seemed like nice guys but there are big improvements to be made here.
