i was just curious as to which scope the US army is using on the m-14's i've seen a number of pictures and i'm unable to identify them anyone have a clue thanx

They use many different products.

Look at Leupold, U.S. Optics, Nightforce, ITT, Aimpoint, EOTech, and Trijicon.

If you think Leupold scopes are not US production then you haven't been to the factory in Beaverton Oregon where all the Leupold rifle scopes are produced...and yes there are lots of Leupolds deployed in the middle east. Phil.

i meant to write us optics lol, mustve been thinknig bout something else, it's been corrected thank you

Every one of those scopes are Leupold Mk4 M3's - standard army issue on the M24 SWS. The only exception is the red dot on one of the m14's.

The M3's are the older style with the removable caps and older BDC caps - the M3 LR/T uses the newer style capless design.

A friend of mine is re-building Leatherwood ART 2's for issue to the illinois national guard units serving in iraq. He also re-builds redfield accro-trac 3-9 rifle scopes. He told me that they like the ART 2's because they stand up to the hard use....being that they are made with steel tubes. These scopes were used during and after the Vietnam war and are still issued when available. So, he gets people to donate them to the national guard for re-building for issue.

definately a USO. not a leupold

DeRK, definitely not a USO.

US optics scopes are very easy to pick out:

USO SN3S

USO MST-100

every one of those scopes on the m14s are leupold besides the one red dot.

leupold mark 4 m3:

also if i remember correctly the leupold mk2 never had a side turret for parallax adjustment.

DeRK you are getting the Turret adjustment knobs mixed up the EREK is much larger than the M3 turret on the Leupold .BTW here are the scope manufactures that are currently in service with the US military Leupold MK IV series, Schmidt and Bender USMC, Nigthforce 3.5 x15
EREK
