Born in Quebec, raised after childhood in the USA, designed the Garand.

Same guy also did MUCH of the experimental work which developed the M-14...... except that he did it in 1944.

Can you even IMAGINE trying to fire an 8-1/2-pound .30-'06 off the shoulder..... on Full Automatic?

Thing must have climbed like a fighter plane!
