Saw a Leupold AR scope on openairoptics.com for $279, $100 cheaper than most local dealers. Went through 90 percent of the check out procedure, there were no warnings about shipping to Canada. The country and province were there at check out and only $10 shipping charge. Anybody order from here before?

Leupold does not allow their US retailers to sell to Canada. They have an exclusive distributor agreement with Korth for Canadian sales.

Unless the retailer has special export permits they cannot ship to Canada. Leupold USA does not stop sales to Canada, the U.S. Feds stop sales to Canada.

As for Warranty Korth cried to leupold about having to warranty scopes he didn't sell so leupold, to stop his wheeny wine ning gave him authority to only warranty scopes in Canada which he sold.

I do believe the majors like WSS can still sell Leupold scopes supplied through their own internal supply chain, which allows them to circumvent Korth by bringing up U.S. scopes and sell them at a lower price. In this case Leupold is not stopping scope sales to Canada

So Korth's virtual monopoly is why Leupold pricing is ~30% higher here than the states?

To the best of my knowlege WSS buys from Korth Group. I have not noticed any significant lower prices from WSS (on current products) than the majority of Canadian retailers. The only box store that brings them in direct is BassPro. Once again I don't notice any significant price reductions on BassPro Leupold products and therefore summize that lower wholesale cost to them (BassPro) are realizing more profits to them rather than passing them onto the Canadian public. Most retailers (at any level) in Canada buy though Korth Group and therefore have warranty in Canada. Phil.
