About three years ago, the US Navy Ceremonial


Guard Silent Drill Team was invited to compete in an International Tattoo in Norway.



The Navy competed against military units from all over NATO and won first place.

Amazing hand / eye coordination, but their timing is what really impresses me. Cadence must play a huge part in that.

I saw this unit last summer at Fort Henry (Kingston) Tattoo. They completed their routine in the pouring rain of a summer thunderstorm and never dropped a rifle!
Pretty amazing. I know it's not the same thing (I am a traditionalist) but prefer to see a "sharp" Canadian Unit on parade. Arms swung high and led by the Pipes and Drums. It stirs the soul!
