Kombayotch,
Additionally, the PRS is going to expand to club series as a gate way into the PRS finale. The PNW has led the way in setting up a 6-7 club series with a finale. I'm attempting to get the PNW finale a regional qualifier match. What happened last year with the regional matches is a bunch of folks from around the nation went to them so it wasn't a true regional match. We are adding two more classes, production rifle ($2500 MSRP for rifle and scope) and tactical (223, 308). the details are not fully hammered out yet but will be posted by the beginning of next season starting mid Sep 15

Those will definitely help. One of the biggest problems seems to be that demand is much bigger than supply. Many more people want to shoot the matches than the matches can accommodate.

There also needs to be more venues in the Northeast. The guys out west are very lucky to have opportunities like the PNW. There is nothing like that in the Northeast. A few places in Michigan are growing into something bigger. There are a few places like Thunder valley in OH that I think could support a decent sized field match. MTC in MI has hosted some matches.

It's a shame that we can't get a venue up here because we border NY and MI and are only a few hours from PA and OH.

Kris,
I hope the meetings go well and you guys are able to make some head way in setting steel matches up.

I still shoot high power and small bore, but the very specialized (bulls eye) HP, SB and F-class shooting sports have flat growth. The action shooting sports (USPSA, 3G and PRS) are exploding.

Don't put away those boltgun for the winter, the fun doesn't stop just because the snow starts falling up here.

2016 season PRS schedule updated.

Nope. The title is fine. US Precision Rifle Series Matches and Matches in Border States

The 'and' means that it includes both.

Max 30 cal. 3150 fps. at most matches. PRS sets it at 3200 fps., but matches are free to adjust some rules and most don't want the additional wear on their steel.

Also, keep in mind that these are not like ORA matches. They have a limited number of spots and those fill up quickly. You have to register months in advance in order to get in, sometimes within the first hour of registration opening.

Hi,

you look like you know a lot about the PRS, and i have a question for you. i had shoot F-Class and got bored pretty quick about it. I am now shooting a lot of IPSC pistol, i finished in 4th at the last canadian national. but i still want to get into the practical long-range type of shooting. exactly like the PRS. So i read few tread and there is nothing in Canada that is like PRS, is that right? now since i'm really involved in IPSC i don't have time or money to travel every month in the U.S. But there is an event in south dakota that is easy for me to go to, since i'm in Winnipeg. do we have to be a member of PRS to attend to one event, or there is a way around it. i don't want to pay 100$us of membership only for one time. plus would there be anybody welling to join me at this event?

Unfortunately not at the moment. There are several of us working on bringing it here, but the challenge is finding a venue where it can be shot.

You don't have to be a PRS member to attend any of the matches and if you aren't trying to qualify for the PRS Finale, there really isn't any reason to join. Being a member does give you a 2 day advantage for registration though. The idea is that PRS members should have priority in PRS matches.

If you know people in that area who shoot long range, ask them if they want to join you. I have a group of guys from Southern Ontario that I go to matches with that are within driving distance.
