Man I'm stupid sometimes (ok, a lot of the time)...

Go to the range today to have some fun with my idiot nephew :), the Tavor, and work out the CZ527, .223.

Me and the idiot nephew :) had fun shooting. Put in a 'decent' 5 shot group, just over an inch, with the CZ and 45gr HPs.

So then I'm heading home and the wife is telling me to get a move on, "how long you gonna be"? Etc...

So I get hurrying. Get to the driveway, and I'm grabbing stuff hauling it into the house. Got my right hand full, open the passenger door with my left hand and crap!! My CZ had slid over to the door, so as soon as I open it, out it comes. And I can't do anything, it happened so quick, plus I got sh*t in my right hand...

The gun landed, I think on the muzzle, then the scope bounced off the pavenment, stock did a little pavement dance...

So yeah, I'm an idiot and should've had the gun in a hard case, then nothing happens. I haven't been able to bring myself to examine the gun & scope...

Hopefully, all is well. It happens to the best of us. Maybe someone should start a thread about the stupidest things we've done. I'm sure everybody could contribute.;)

Did something similar with a device that had a glass screen and wammo crash.. the blood just rushes to the face and makes one feel like crying ..know the feeling, hope the damage is minimum..

Try having your RFB with the new Zeiss 3-9 Terra decide to leap from your Gun smithing rest and bounce between your loading bench and your Dillon XL650 on it's way to the floor whilst you are in the middle of returning a half a pot of coffee to the Eco system... Sigh.... It's only money... And paint... Nothing stays new forever.

Dude, I feel your pain..... Those of us who've participated in this sport long enough have similar painful stories... Look at the bright side "Magellann" pointed out.. that oops has given you a good excuse to get back to the range right away to make sure all is still good.

I accidently dropped a set of Swarovski EL binoculars off a range bench onto the concrete floor. I also saw a Winchester shotgun get run over by a Dodge 3/4 ton which pulled up to help gather decoys.

Well the idiot nephew fells very sorry to hear about this unfortunate even to befall such a beauty of a gun. I really hope it survived as unscathed as possible.

Through the years I've built up an inventory of about a half dozen decent soft cases and a couple hard cases these days nothing leaves the house naked. Due not surprisingly, to similar stories such as this one in my past :runaway:

Had a similar issue. Returned from a hunt. Dropped the tailgate to lay down my gear. Front sling swivel breaks, rifle swings down, scope bounces off tailgate as rifle continues to the concrete-hard frozen ground, where the scope bounces again because the sling is still under my arm, ensuring that the rifle lands everywhere scope down.

I was at the range years ago and watched my buddy set up his gun rests after setting targets.
Did the same and we did our shot groups.
Went for a walk and came back to my Brno laying on the ground.
This was the first time and last that I ever left a rifle this way.
If he wasn't with me, my man card would of been hit.
I'd of teared meself into deehydratshun.

There's lots to be said 'bout them thar scope bust'n Sleds.

Jeeeeesh, me heart jest skipped a beat.

Me, me, oh, Meee!!! Drove 45 minutes to the range, only to realize I forgot the keys for all the locks (gate, guns). Now I have a checklist that I go through... I forget nothing.

Bought a brand new Remington field master 22 pump. Went to the range. Stood the gun up in the rifle holders(as per our range rules) a guy walks by bumps the whole works down my new 22 goes on to the concrete ;( broken pump stock!!
Guy looks back said sorry keeps walking out the door. I was so stunned I couldn't even blow a gasket.
Realy glad my custom cooper was not out of the case and sitting there or it would have been on the ground too.
I don't mind some marks on my guns. But day one!!!
I'm still pissed off about it.
