This has puzzled me for a while. What exactly is the use of the Cx4 Storm by Berreta. Is it some type of assault/sniper combination rifle or was I way off and is it just some cool looking sporting arm? What the hell is that thing?

Pistol caliber rifle... much more accurate than a pistol. It really shines in Tac-Matches and with a Non-Restricted Barrel it's a bonus (You can take it wherever you go).

If you get the Non-Restricted barrel it is one of the only Non-Restricteds which can have 10 rounds in the magazine.

They are very fun firearms.

G37 has it right ... great for Tactical Rifle/Carbine match use. I would think they would make a nice police carbine, similar in concept to the Ruger PC series or the basis for a police sub gun design like the MP5. Having mags and ammo for both carbine and pistol has its advantages.

I love the gun but I sure hate that mag release. From a utility point of view the thumbhole stock can go too ...

I dont know if the CX4 is carried by any military or police unit. It is likely it exists solely as a target gun. Since it uses the same magazines as the Beretta 92/96 it is very popular.

I've fired one, and they are very light, smooth and easy. They are enjoyed by begginers and pros alike!

Cx4

The CX4 was first offered as a "LEO" weapon. I suppose the thinking was as police departments already had the "92"s that this would be a good fit. They do make different magazine adaptors for them too. My understanding was that the Ruger PC9 and PC40 carbine was made with the same thinking. (PC=police carbine) The pistol caliber carbines make great little rifles for plinking too.

I have both a High Point 9mm carbine (bargin for the money) and a CX4. When I take them to the range folks really enjoy trying them out. They shoot very straight, don't wear you out, and are economical--and fun--to shoot.

It was designed to support the LEO: a versatile, capable carbine they could deploy on any call. Accuaracy of a carbine with the versatility of a pistol: using the 92 mags and having basically the same controls as the 92 so the officers are already somewhat familiar with them (Similar line of thinking as the 870 & 7615p by Remy).

I have one and I think its great and accurate. Regularly hit 6"steel plates at 100 yards. Pistol ammo is cheap to shoot too! Comfortable and smooth. Trigger is a little heavy but you get used to it fast.

Regards,

Boomer 686 is right, it is a great gun for distance compared to other pistol cailber carbines.

I am a fair shot and with an MP5 I can not come close to nailing targets as frequently as I can with a semi auto CX4. Super gun, super cheap and 10 rounds in the Kingdom of Canada.

I know many people dont like the CX4 but I think it is terrific.

Cheers
