So I listed a SNT 14" on the EE for sale or trade... Nice shotgun, but my vision of myself doing lots of recreational shooting with it didn't come to pass and won't anytime soon. It's like new, less than three boxes through it - what's a ballpark fair asking price?

New they're $1050 out the door any place I see them listed, so I put it up at $800, figure 20% ish off is the place to start. No interest after 24 hours though, and my personal rule of thumb is when that happens you've got it priced wrong. What's a fair price to move it along at? I don't really care about squeezing out every cent I can, rather just something fair for both parties.

Or did I buy the redheaded stepchild of the shotgun world?

$1050 new? I've seen them for $699 plus tax at times and usually under $800. Any more is a dealer who went through too many distributors or got hosed and is passing the hosing onto you. You're basically asking the same price as new for a less popular and used shotgun. I got $650 shipped for one with a Nordic extension and Mesa shellholder/rail combo. At $800 most aren't going to have any interest in a used one.

Well then there's the disconnect...

Yes, they're around $930 everywhere now, which is $1050 with tax. I looked at everywhere I could find online and the lowest was $899, the highest $950 and the most common was $930. I definitely remember when they were priced in the sub $800 range, but those days are gone it seems. Heck, six months ago at Cabela's they were $699 on sale, I remember that clearly, today they're $930...

I approached it like I was looking to buy one new, today, and what would that cost me at 2015 pricing. I can't find much substantially lower than around a $1k out the door.

Anyway, interesting - I'm inclined to believe what you're saying is the situation. On the other hand I don't think I can bring myself to sell for $650 a shotgun it would cost substantially more to buy today. Funny. Six months ago with 2014 pricing, sure. But now? It's tough to look at current pricing and go off what was, last year.

Thanks for the quick input, appreciate it.

Ya man, and no disrespect intended. I went through the same thing selling one. It took over a month. Cheapest I can find is $819 from a site sponsor and when it comes to buying used most people don't consider shipping and taxes as part of the value. I look at it as if I'm buying a used one I expect a deal. If its close to what I'd be paying for brand new then I'll pay the little bit extra for a new one. I paid 780 plus tax, plus $100 us for extension, $50 us for barrel clamp, $80 for shellholder/rail plus a buttstock shellholder for another 70 or so and Meprolight night sights I think they were $100 us. Total value before tax was well over $1000 and several parts came from the US. It was like new but not worth much to anybody. They are excellent high end shotguns but its not an 870 or M4 so its not what everybody wants unfortunately. All you can do is keep bumping your ad and hope a buyer comes along. Best of luck to ya.

No, none taken at all... I mean it's not like it's my own original art work or anything LOL, it's a piece of hardware with a market value.

Who has them at $820 btw? Always like to know who's got the competitive prices to look at when I'm shopping around.

I hear ya about pricing; I do it myself, looking at stuff on the EE and thinking wow that's almsot new cost, then I remember about taxes and possibly shipping, and find it's a few hundred off new OTD pricing.

It is indeed a nice shotgun though as you say. I guess so if your nick is Supernova LOL. I never much cared for the Benelli autos, used to hunt with one and never really liked anything about it. For pumps though, I'm sold on the Supers. Looking for one of the 24" barreled ones for Turkey and Coyote because of my experience owning this one. Like them way way better than the 870s. Especially like how the shell lifter stays up after the first round loaded in the tube... slick.

Well, guess I'll drop the asking, I'd rather move it along than deal with BTTing forever... Cheers.

Jo Brook has them. A quick google search shows the usual pricing with Benellis from dealers, everything from $819 to $969 and everything inbetween. There's no fixed pricing like some other brands. I seem to remember Jo Brook bringing the 14" SNs in first, maybe they have a better line on them than the rest? Anyways, sorry to rain on your thread. I know it sucks to hear. Keep your price up a bit and ask for offers, theres a lot of members that consistently make solid offers rather than lowballing and you never know when someone might offer that trade you can't resist.

Ah, thanks. Never really looked at them, I'll have to browse the site. No worries, no raining at all, I asked for info and I got it. I didn't pay anywhere near current retail for the thing, so I'm not too stressed. If I can move it along at a decent price, cool, if not, no problem either. I just hate accumulating guns I don't use, been there done that and it's no fun.
