Two Of my friends and I went to the range today to shoot our 12-5's for the last time today. When the government sent out the letters stating we couldn't take out our 12-5's to the range our provincial firearms guys talked to their legal department and decided they wouldn't revoke permits that were given out before April 10th, 2005.
So they honored our dates and we finally got to shoot our 12-5's for the last time. I packed up my FN l1A1, and Thompson and put some lead down range. I didn't take a camera and I wish I had. It has been a long time since I shot on a range, but shooting my Thompson was a great feeling. Funny to see the rounds hitting the back stop 150 yards, after you fire. It was different with the FN it felt like power when I squeezed the trigger.

It was refreshing to get on the range after the toughest day I have had to go through. My wife lost her job on Friday and I am disabled. The company replaced her with a lazy, brown nosing, incompetent, woman that just wanted her job. I don't care if I have anything happen to me, but my wife is the sweetest girl anyone could ever want to meet. She has been there for me through a couple of close calls with death, and now I feel helpless and can only be there to hold her.
Both good things have to come to an end. But I still have my wife of thirty years, and thirty six as my best friend. Well look for more guns for sale down the road.

Question, can you not get a permit for a day to " test the firearm for function" ?
May be worth trying, I realize it is not the same as full use, but better than never shooting it again.
Just a thought

In theory you could probably get SAP to go to the range for "evaluation". Just like in theory you can get SAP to take it to a DND range. :(

I used my last day at the start of December, 2005. Before that I was out every week once a week with my FN. All my other firearms got ignored, but I think they understood. :)
