The others may be unchanged because his old stock hasnt sold out yet of those models so they where bought with the lower Canadian dollar. Guns arent gasoline.

It's just like on your LuftAmp K98 that is for $800 today and was $399 at Collectors Source a few months back. (The pot calling the kettle Black)

It's far to easy to criticize, but these are some marvelous semis that John and others are selling and bringing in, and it's everybodies own perogative to set their own prices.

1) VERY RARE LuftAmpt inspected K98k. This is one of the 6000 rifles made in 1941 for the Luftwaffe by (purportedly) Krieghoff at the Gustloff plant. These rifles were made for the luftwaffe and inspected by the Luftwaffe due to Operation Barbarossa's demand on rifles and losses in the Army (Heer) meaning that rifles from normal production were not available at the time.
There are NO swastica eagles, instead this short run of 6000 rifles was Luftampt eagle inspected. This one is built on a Walther made "blanko" receiver (originally intended as an armorer's replacement receiver but diverted to Luftwaffe production) and has no receiver ring crest whatsoever, though these are sometimes also encountered with scrubbed Gew98, BSW39 and bcd41 receivers. All were assembled in 1941 at Gustloff Werke.
The numbers are almost all matching (extractor, handguard and stock are mismatched) but some parts have been renumbered (bayonet lug and buttplate). These guns were built with alot of recycled pre-war and ww1 era parts when they were new, so it's tough to say if anything's been replaced post-war. Original stocks are often renumbered earlier stocks and sometimes not renumbered at all. I suspect the bolt might be a post-war renumbered replacement and possibly the stock set, but no way to know for sure. I doubt you'll ever see another LuftAmpt rifle for sale though.

The stock does have a few dings and dents, the metal has some wear, and there is a small patch repair in the inletting of the stock where the sling keeper sits.

How come the BD-3008 and BD44 prices remain unchanged? or has the marstar website just not been updated yet? And does anyone know if the Marstar BD-38 accessory special also applies to BD-3008 customers?

It looks like these are imported directly from Germany so unless we are gaining against the Euro it wouldn't change anything. I just checked and he Euro is down 1 cent from this day last year. It seems more like the US dollar is weakening and we are gaining against the US dollar which we are always compared against.
 
From another thread I got the impression that TSE's 38s had not come into the country via Marstar, although Marstar is now the exclusive importer. This could explain any price differences. The 8% sales tax difference is certainly a consideration, if you are in ON.
On a related topic, I have heard that a Sten will accept MP38u40 magazines, but the German MPs won't accept Sten mags. I wonder if Sten mags could be altered to fit the BD3008?
 
All of our guns came direct from Germany from a dealer that cleared them out. He dumped them and we were able to get them for a little less than Marstar's dealer price. We passed on the savings. It's as simple as that. I only have one gun left.

$499 + tax = $554,86 plus $60 shipping = $614.86

And FYI, I gave the seller a much better deal than $800 not that it's any of your business. He got it for $600 shipped. I guess that makes me an @sshole for losing $14.86 on the gun.

Despite Coyote Ugly making me out to be horrible ripoff artist who's only interested in trashing Marstar, I would point out that John & Co. know I have dropped VERY LARGE coin there these last few years and am one of their most loyal non-business customers. Among other things, I've bought a VZ58 with accessories, an MG34 semi with accessories, some pedersolis, tons of ammo by the crate, and countless less expensive guns and accessories. I, unlike him, am actually contemplating buying one of these high-priced SSD guns and asked for knowledgeable experienced owners to help me out figuring out which dealer would be the best to go with. In the end it will probably be from Marstar too. But of course, I'm clearly just trashing Marstar:

You even stated it was $399 on Gunboards, and I do recall seeing it posted at $399. No one said you were a ripoff artist except yourself, so calm down and get your story straight.

i have no idea if the stock is numbered or not - the dealer isn;t going to disassemble it for me. Price is $399 Canadian, which I know is too expensive in the USA, but in Canada, RC's are selling for $350 and up, so in that respect, it's not out of line.

What puzzles me is that the receiver is either scrubbed or unmarked. No maker's mark and date at all. Just the WaA 359 on the side. Would it be a depot replacement receiver? The barrel serial number and WaA4 looks either BSW or early Gustloff to me...? Perhaps this one is similar to those blank receivers with the small BSW mark at the woodline? Barrel seems to be a '39 dated tube - should a 39 assembled at Gustloff not have a flat buttplate if the stock were original?

I wasn't attacking Marstar at all. I own lots of marstar guns and I am through with this thread which has gone WAY off topic. Anyone wanting to know the particulars can pm me. I'm sure you can also PM C.U. and get his version too.

EDIT: in the interest of keeping hte peace, I have taken this argument to pm's - sorry for my share of the disruption mods.
