USGI 20/5 m14 magazines, where to buy?

Here is a pic showing the colour/finish difference between an American built Mag and a Norc. Maybe has nothing to do with the USGI spec.

The one on the left looks like the German-manufactured ones that were kicking around for a while (I think Corwin Arms had them for sale), I'm not sure if any new stock of those are still coming in. Checkmate makes current-issue USGI mags and there are a few places up here that stock them fairly regularly. Here's a link (currently sold out unfortunately): https://ctcsupplies.ca/products/m14-m1a-20-5-308-usgi-magazine?variant=226327560

edit: IIRC the German ones were priced quite reasonably too, a lot less than the US ones.

They were reasonably priced, especially given their high quality. The Norinco M14 magazines are of excellent quality as well with respect to fit and function.

That mag on the left is not a USGI or Checkmate mag it is a German mag from Corwin as pointed out by Pop.

Below are 2 USGI mags ( HR-R Harrington & Richardson and an OM- Olin-Mathieson) on the left and 2 Norks on the right; most USGI M14 mags tend to have a dark grey parkerizing Checkmate mags are a lighter grey parkerizing colour. I don't own any but the German mags look painted or is that bluing, can anybody confirm this?

I personally like the old Nork mags that were internally pinned with the extension spot welded to the follower; nothing more ugly than a big old pop rivet sticking out the side, or worse a nice USGI mag with multiple holes from failed attempts to pin to 5 rnds.

The black magazines available from Corwin Arms are painted. The paint scratches off with repeated mag changes.

I rubbed grease on my Norinco mags and they looked darker.
