Guess?
I was wondering how easy the medal plate and sling loop riveted into the USGI stock is to replace? Are they easy to find/order?

Gunparts has 'em and the rivets. Listed under U.S. Military, then M1A. $8.80U.S. for the swivel assembly. 95 cents U.S. each for the the rivets.
Drill out the old, install the new.

Awesome! Thanks. :)

Are there any issues shipping those items to Canada?

I have cap screws and nuts for the forward sling swivel in SS. NRA shooters use these instead of rivets. They are stronger and easier to install....

these are not hardware store items. no one uses square nuts anymore. so I had to import the screw, nut and cap screw and nut. you don't have to fiberglass the butt to take the nut. you also don't have to worry about cracking the wood/fiberglass forend using rivets.

Word of warning , you will need a expensive rivet setter to use the tube rivets .
Like someone else mentioned, screws washers and nuts are alot easier to use .
To remove them use a drill bit slightly larger than the rivets drill the "flare" out from the inside and punch the rivets out.
You can refinish your stock or repaint and if the swivel needs rifinished do it while out and then reinstall with screws and nuts .
I use button head cap screws (10-32 ).
I length will vary depending whether your stock is a wood NM or 'glass or standard profile. You can use shorter screws on the glass, but will need some a little longer if the stock is NM.
Hope this helps !
