What would be a reasonable price to pay for a USGI walnut stock, in VG to EXC condition, with the buttplate and all the metal? And what about a slotted handguard in EXC condition? Lastly, where can they be found in Canada?

Thanks Nutz.

Maybe 100 bucks, guess I was wrong. I never claimed my rifle shoots 1 MOA however.

I realize that I was just razzing you for gloating.

I bought a stock a few years back for $100 but they seem to be harder to find now. A boyds stock might be easier.

Congratulations on your good deal.

Try Treeline M14 online, I just ordered a fiberglass M14, no metal or buttplate for $100. Also picked up a couple of hand-guards, they had none that were slotted at the time, but had various conditions of the regular ones, so I picked up a couple of them. Good luck hunting!

Treeline still shows the excellent condition slotted in stock for $27.50. I bought one a couple of months back and it appeared to be new. Good service too.

I order off Fred's all the time, ship to my us address and then when I go down I bring them back with me. I know that doesn't work for everyone so prophet rivet and IRG both import.

I didn't think you could bring stuff with you back across the border like that.

Meh, I guess it wasn't as good a deal as I think, since I had to pay a gunsmith 50 bucks to get it to cycle.

There's legalities to follow but yes, you can, I've had no issues. The last time I flew my bags had notes in them that they were searched by homeland security. Bags still had four USGI stocks, 1954 lmr garand barrel and two m1911a1 slide & barrel assembly's when I got home.
