Usgi synthetic stock question

ok so being very new to the M-14 scene, I have a question on swapping my Norinco stock with a recently purchased USGI one. when I removed the receiver and barrel from the chinese stock, I noticed that where the receiver sat there was what appeared to be metal reinforcing plates on the stock itself, after looking at the USGI stock, there was no metal inside the stock. the metal reinforcing bits were just in front of where the trigger group sits. my question is. Is this a safety issue? can my USGI stock be trusted? thanks in advance for any feed back. I did a search on CGN and some other M-14 friendly forums and came up dry.
 
Stock liners are used in wood stocks. The USGI fiber stocks do not use them. Note that the liner screw holes are missing as well.

Is your Norc stock wood?

GI stock

Your Norinco will drop right in US GI stock no problem ,Have used one on my 2007 rifle and fired thousand plus rds no problem, Get a BS auto switch to fill in the hole on back of stock and some JP weld to fill in right side so the spring op rod pin will not pop out and away you go. They are great stock for the value. send me your email for some photos of my stock

The stock liner was put into wood stock, to reinforce them when shooting full auto or rife grenades

I would consider having the GI Synthetic bedded though "as there loose fitting"
