Speer manual #10 states a maximum load for a 45-70 using SR4759 in a Ruger No. 1 rifle is 34.0 grains attaining 1567 fps. On the next page under 458 Winchester the maximum load for the same powder is 30.0 grains at 1445 fps. Since the 458 Win. Is a larger case I cant see any problem using 4 extra grains. Or am I off in left field.

you have to be careful, with these powders. a frind of mine shot a max load of this powder in his 308. it froze the action, primer blew out. he should have started min. load, then worked up. bigger case could react different. use caution works best.
