Would you guys say it was ok to use a pelican case with a padlock on for handguns to travel to the range?

Maybe cheaper and more sturdy that some cases.

More descrete too.

Just asking.

Yes. Pelican cases are heckuva strong. I was using them when designing aircraft tool kits. The amount of abuse those cases could endure are just beyond imagination. And as a bonus, they are hermetically sealed. If you ever put this case in unpressurized aircraft, make sure that little thumb screw next to handle is out so case wouldn’t deform or even burst at high altitude. All others I consider as a toys when compared with this type of “luggage”.

i bought a sheet of foam for my rifle case from a custom case store (which happens to sell pelican products as well). it cost $20 for my rifle case.
the shop is located west of 50th street in the area of phoenix range in edmonton (which is where i assume you live). i cant remember the name of the shop but they are in the yellow pages.

hope this helps, danny
