Using an ithaca mag 10 to make a roadblocker ithaca

Someone told me that cutting the barrel of my mag 10 maybe will result in malfunctioning because of possible lost of gaz to cycle. It’s depending on the gun.
Would like to cut it, thread it and put some door breaker muzzle and keeping it non restricted of course!
Who is confident it will work and can do it?

Any chance of getting a second barrel to alter? Then if it doesn't work, only a barrel and not a complete gun will be spoiled?

If the Ithaca has gas orifices, they most likely will have to be opened up for the shortened barrel.
