Using bullet comparator question.

So my Sinclair bullet comparitor came in the mail.

The question is when you guys use this tool do you press the round into the hole with a snug fit or a very light touch? The difference between the two varies a lot so that's why I'm asking.

Until the bullet is stable in the comparator, no more. Gently wiggle it. The exact technique and measurement is less important than consistency. Try measuring the same round several times until you can reliably get a consistent reading on your calipers.

I put a very slight pressure and also give the case a 1/4 turn to make sure the base is seated flat on your caliper.
