using pyrodex or triple 7 in 38 special??

So, I'm bored and the thought of running Pyrodex or Triple 7 through either the 38 S&W or 38 Special crossed my mind. Anyone tried it for laughs?? I'm assuming you put enough powder so there's compression with the boolit, and give the revolver a bath after shooting. Anyone else ever get bored and try this?

BP or substitute, in .38 spl should work if you have the correct load data. The 38spl was originally a BP cartridge anyways, IIRC.

I do like the sound (like a poof than a bang) and smoke out of BP guns, so have fun.

Just remember, no airspace!! Card wad over top of the powder if powder to the base of the bullet is too much for your taste!

We're bound to get some cold weather eventually, so I'll think on it and roll a few up at a later date. Normal lube or switch to lard?
