I am awaiting arrival of my M14, and intend to scope it so it can"t be loaded from the top. I think Marstar have stripper clips, but are loaders/charger guides available for mags? Can mags be loaded with a charger guide that fits onto the mag? Who would have them?

Yes, you can.

Don't know where you can get them in Canada but places like Fulton Armory and many others sell em.

I think a CF C1A1 mag charger will fit on an M305 mag. Finding one will be the issue. A gun show, maybe. Epp's is listing 45 7.62 DP rounds on stripper clips for $40. They might have the charger too.

Sunray, do you mean what I would call an SLR? ie the old British FN service rifle? I"m going back to the UK for a week in febuary and someone is bound to have a charger guide squirelled away somewhere.
Thanks for the info.

Yeah, thought of that too, but I don"t like that "look"!
I have ordered a couple of extra mags, and a box of 20 strippers. I have found a couple of sites in the US that advertise the charger guides/loaders for mags.

Sorry, but the C1A1 charger doesn't fit on the M14 mag. The M14 mag is just a few thou thicker than the C1A1 mag. And even if it weren't, the tab on the back of the M14 mag would prevent the charger from seating properly. I know, because I've tried going this route. You need the proper USGI mag charger. On the other hand, loading 5 rounds one at a time is not such a problem anyway with our 5-round restriction. I can see the advantage if you load the mag with 4 5-round stripper clips though.

any of the bandolier recharge kits( the ones with the cardboards) will have one of those in it- that same place dimitri said has them for 10 bucks
