The Corwin ones are good to go. Work exactly the same, but are obviously tougher than the cardboard.

I have a cardboard one somewhere, I was always afraid to use it and wreck it. Now I think I want to give it a go.

I have six that were given to me by the original owner who had them since 1938. I use them a lot, and straighten them out when I bend the tin bits.

The cardboard charger's are not as flimsy as they appear.

A while back we gave it a try and did fire & movement drills using SKS's and K31's. It worked like a charm. While we had to slow down out rate of fire as compared to using modern assault rifles, we were still almost quite as effective, but out fire was for sure more accurate.

But putting about 150 rds of GP11 through a K31 sure is quite a workout.

Maybe a closer description of the "Cardboard" is laminated cellulose, closer to a thin version of your plasticized membership cards.
