Now I know why you shouldn't!

- Accuracy sucked (big time keyholing);
- Powder fell out all over the place; and
- the wheelweight got stuck in my Seating Die.

I can't imagine that Lead-based wheelweights would be any better. What am I missing?

Toss the furnace as well as any zinc wheel weights, you will never get rid of the contamination.
As you probably found out the mould using zinc will never fill out properly at best to be expecting crap bullets.
Real lead wheel weights work perfectly for casting bullets either rifle or pistol types. Just keep your velocities in the 1000 to 1300fps range.

Sorry for responding!! Thought you had asked an intelligent question thats all...........

To solve the powder falling out problem, use your hot melt glue gun to seal up any holes. It might even help with the keyholing issue. Good luck,

PS- I think someone really missed the boat! :popCorn:

Andy; I think I see your problem!! :rolleyes: You should be using a longer, heavier wheelweight and folding it double before seating it in the case. ;) :D Regards, Eagleye
