well my USP 40 after 26K rds

is now single action only...the double will reset if I tap the slide to the rear a 16th of an inch but if I don't no double action shot....the gun is clean and lubed....

I think I may need a new hammer and or sear

Only 26k rounds? What a total piece of garbage! If it had been a Glock, it would have lasted one kazillion trillion billion rounds....per day...for a millenium!

Is there a pistol smith near you?

could it be the sear spring/ flat spring has broke or is just worn out its welcome?

I am not exactly sure what you mean, can you fire it in SA and continue to fire with the pistol resetting itself into SA each time it is fired, or do you mean
you can not decock it from SA to DA using the decocking lever?

resistance to this is caused from a few things, the match trigger spring is lighter, and may not reset properly if there is any resistance encountered by the trigger against the frame. After the trigger is pressed, and then released the trigger bar must travel back towards the hammer and actually go under it and catch into the notch. The trigger detent and spring which applies pressure up under the trigger bar, enough to allow the trigger bar to keep it inline to where it is supposed to go. IF a lot of residue is around these parts, that may cause friction, which may slow the trigger and trigger bar enough to stop it from resetting. If there is not enough lubrication your Hk USP may also not run as smooth in these areas.

the gun works, like a 1911...my double action if I draw from the holster hammer down and pull the trigger....nothing happens but if I push the slide a 16th rearward it will catch and then I can pull the trigger DA...

So your DA doesn't work? Is the safety engaging by accident? take it apart, find the part that doesn't look right.

hey is it possible that you have engaged the locking mechanism? Check in the mag area to see if its moved or is activated.. you probably got the key with it right?

Sounds like the flat spring is broken. It should have two prongs, you will likely see only one remaining now. They are sometimes hard to source, but fairly inexpensive.

If you can't find one, let me know, I have a spare, but it is the coated one, not the stainless one (not sure why they are different?) Probably match and surplus from old stock, but it is new.
