My first attempt at embedding. Hope it works. Never heard of this before, but must have been on the scale of the Halifax explosion.

The British Hood didn't fare any better, when I first saw this, thought it referred to the volcano.

USS Mount Hood....sunk by a Lucky torpedo.

Pre-dreadnought battleships had a tendency to explode because of their unstable ammunition.

Explosives and war, #### happens, location determines just how much. An American ship, loaded with mustard gas blew up in Bari , Italy. Another one of those stories they suppressed for a long time.
