About 15 years ago I saw a USSR Target rifle ie Heavy 25in+ barrel, peep sights etc. It was a repeater. Never seen one since. Had same bolt as the older TOZ 17 rifles. Anyone come across one of these?????

Are you sure it was a repeater?

I have a Vostock CM-2 first generation rifle that matches the description except it's a single shot. I know there are a number of the Vostock Ural rifles (Came after the CM-2 version).

Here's picture of my CM2 (from the website when I bought it). Did it look like this? If it has a stock adjustment and very recessed crown then it's probably the Ural.

If memory serves me correctly it was probably a TOZ-14. They were repeaters with peep sights and the TOZ-6, TOZ-12, and TOZ-14 all had the same bolt. I don't know where to get one. They have not been produced in some time. They are quite inferior to the CM-2 for target shooting. They are more of a beginner's training rifle. Unless you want it for sentimental reasons, or as a collector, my advice would be to avoid it if at all possible. The TOZ-78's are superior. The heavy barrelled version (or Winchester Wildcat heavy barrelled version) are decent target rifles for a beginner. The CM-2 trigger is adjustable enough to get a very crisp let off, so it is a better rifle also.

I think I saw one today when I was setting up at the gun show in Swift Current.
Fellow from Regina has it on his table, but not sure which model, or price.
