A friend of mine picked up an UTAS shotgun this week and we brought it to the range with us today to try it out.
The gun has a couple of issues.

The first issue is very light primer strikes. Some shells would not fire even after multiple attempts.
The second issue was problems ejecting the spent hulls.
The hulls would get jammed in the chamber and would not come out without an extreme amount of force to the point of tearing the brass rim.
They would however easily come out if a dowel was pushed down through the barrel.
This may be the fault of the ammunition which was Challenger target load.
The brass is very short and on the she's which we're difficult to eject it appeared that the brass base was being pulled out on one side.
We will be trying it out with different she's with longer brass bases to see if it makes any difference.

Has anybody had any similar experiences?

Problems like this

No Nutnfancy's gun has ejection issues. The shell extracts but doesn't eject.
My friends gun will not extract at all. Either it stays jammed shut with the extractor caught on the rim till you pogo the rifle or shove a wooden dowel down the barrel or it rips the brass right off the rim.
I have some old CIL shells with the big brass base I'll give him to try next week.

Hopefully you find a load the gun likes. I've never understood buying a new gun and bringing only one type of ammo on the first range trip. I always try to bring at least four brands (usually more) from different manufacturers.

.....and some things are just works of art and technological nightmares best left in the trash bin!!! They will make cool paperweights. Watching the action is something else, the shells make quite a miraculous tour!
