I installed a reddot on it and fired about 100 rounds through it. It surprisingly maintained zeroed, but i was not intended to put any optic on it. JUst for fun.

I've got a UTG on one of my uppers. Just as solid as the MI I have on my 180B. Plus I didn't have to put out $200 US or more. And the last time I looked my #### didn't fall off because it wasn't a Larue, YHM or POF:p

whats your mean by "real steel" ?

Hehe, nothing, just some airsoft screening. But I would hesitate putting an airsoft accessory on a firearm. You know, you can get a quality, CNC-machined aluminum rail from Midwest Industries for not much more than you paid for the airsoft crap. Try Wolverine Supplies.

Hmmm. Didn't know Questar was in the habit of selling "airsoft crap."

Got news for you grasshopper, the HG416S-B is not designed for airsoft:

A lot of guys on this forum use Leapers optics as well as accessories. There are also a lot of AR accessory shops in the US selling this quad rail handguard. So before jumping to conclusions about airsoft crap on ARs do some research. Like I said, I have a Midwest Industries on my 180B. The UTG is comparable and cost about $120.00US less.:)

Nah, it's still airsoft junk that somehow transitioned to firearms because of Walmart mentality. It's not even made in North America. Gerbage!

thanks alot for the review micky and turf...i have been waiting to see it mounted on a CGN firearm b4 i buy one. from what ive read koalorka this particular quadrail was not designed for airsoft....so i dont know where you got that from to be honest. unless your going into combat anytime soon i dont think it really matters how much you spend on your rail as long as things arnt falling off of it and its sturdy.

Take into consideration that it is also Chinese made.

EDIT:

Damn, forgot this is NORINCO-land.

ya...my "m14" is Chinese made also....and its a fantastic firearm. Keep in mind most people are buying this rail b/c they want there ar15 to look cool but they dont want to re-finance the house to do it. if you arnt in the "sandbox" who really cares. its good enough to hang a foregrip on. im going to buy one for sure.

I just went over a bunch of posts over at arf.com There are mixed reviews but from what I read the guys using them are happy with them. The guys that aren't happy don't have them, and wouldn't buy a chinese hooker even if she looked like Lucy Liu and was selling it for a quarter.

It's a good piece of kit. So what if it's a knock off. It's a helluva lot cheaper than DD or Larue for what I do with it. The only thing mounted is my FVG anyway. Looks better than the crappy Matty Mattel HGs that came with it and I didn't have to pay half the price of the rifle for a damn handguard

I just got one yesterday too. Mounted it and it is ROCK solid. I got a better than 100 dollar deal on it as well. I would say that the only "cheap" part of it would be the rubber hand covers, but again for the price, they are great. My rail covers are OD Green.

I only have a verticle grip on my ar but i had it previously mounted to regular oval carbine hand guards with a small adapted rail and this is BY FAR more sturdy, if oyu didnt know it was a 2 piece rails system than i believe that you would not be able to tell the difference.

Here's probably the ultimate in blasphemy, but I have one mounted on my LMT 10.5" upper. Along with a knock-off Aimpoint. I'm surely going to h&ll for this, but it works well for my needs right now.

Heathen! How could you NOT use a KAC RIS on a 10.5" LMT barrel?! It's just asking to become a Mk 18 Mod 0 clone! I could not justify spending +200 dollars on a fake Aimpoint and rail, add another $200 and you have the real thing.
