I had to take a home from work today and he wanted to show me a gun he had inherited.. He told me it a was a 7mm .. So I assumed he meant a newer rifle than what he was about to show me ..
Full wood and a bayonet on the end .. I did not see and chamber marking on it but it does has V-24 on the side .. Is it possible this gun is an 8x57 instead of 7x57 or did they build both calibers in the V-24 ..
I Google it but it did not say

Some South American contract VZ24s were in 7mm Mauser. It was a popular export rifle for the time and quite well made.

Do you have any pictures of the rifle ? The left side of the receiver may have the serial number (prefix letters would be important) as well as a Czech lion and inspector mark with the year of acceptance ( E 29 for example). The Czech military accepted rifles follow this pattern of markings but I am not sure how the South American rifles were marked.

I will try to get a few pictures .. Nice gun in real decent shape .. I am going too assume you mean 7x57 when you say 7mm.
Or do you mean the same 7mm that interchanges with 280 remington
