Valley Gunsmithing

For anyone that hasn't been to his shop, Jeffs shop is in the garage in his backyard.Every time I go there, he has a sh#tload of projects on the go.He always stops whatever he's doing, and gives excellent customer service. He goes out of his way, showing me different projects hes working on.Last time I was there, he showed me how many different projects he had on the go, it was unreal.Factor in his 3 young kids, as well as his wife being overseas, and you can understand why he is a little slow to respond to e-mails.
He's only human.I guarantee if you do have him work on your gun, you wont be disappointed!!

Just my .02 cents

Coming from someone living in Victoria who has never dealt with the shop in question before... I'll take it for what it's worth.

As punkrockboy said, Jeff is truely a one man operation, running the whole thing out of his garage in his backyard. The parking lot of ValleyGuns is Jeff's driveway, and with him being so popular it is understandable that there will be delays in service.

I've dealt with Jeff before and I will gladly deal with him again, and I don't mind waiting as it comes with the territory.

If trying for several weeks meets your needs....your nuts....what other service would you try that long to get in touch with and then be happy that they talked to you.....getting your car fixed ? getting a dentist appt ?, getting a plumber ?....only in the gun service industry are people willing to take it up the ass for weeks on end and then say they are happy.....

Unbelievable..........

In case you didn't notice, you can find car repair shops, dentists, and plumbers anywhere. Any given city with a good population base is sure to have dozens of them. Not so for gun smiths. It would be ludicrous to expect the same kind of turnaround from a gun smith as you would from a car shop when car shops outnumber gunsmiths by 50 to 1. So either quit your #####ing or become a gunsmith already, the lines aren't getting any shorter.

well im glad to hear hes just busy and didnt get hurt or sick or something i think i will just shutup and wait  i'll post pics when i get her back maybe :D

I really don't get the Victoria comment? (I have been off the island before - lived in TO for 30 years)- but anyways - the comment I was trying to make was that any size business can provide great customer service, and it is not just the 'big' shops domain. I also thought I made it clear I was not commenting on Valley, but the plight of small shops.

BTW, I run my own business, and if I treated customers that way, I would be back to a single person company - so I am speaking from experience.

Jeff is an excellent gun smith, thats why he is so busy plus he is a family man.He has done work for me more than once & I still have a small job for him to do.DAN>>>

MAN THIS ANNOYS ME;
From what I understand Jeff is retired (medical) from the military, his wife is deployed overseas, he is taking care of his children, his part time worker is also deployed.... Yet he is doing his best.

I for one am proud to count Jeff as one of our customers, he is out there busting his butt to better serve his customers under somewhat adverse conditions, which would defeat a lesser man.

To those who offer quick comments and critique, all I can say is walk a mile in his shoes then perhaps you may earn the right to comment, otherwise cut him some slack and admire a real man....You might also learn something.
I talk too much....

Bollocks! You don't talk enough John.

Very well said, Jeff is a good friend and I'll let him know what you said, when I phone him. I'm on Van Isle right now.

Johnone said it right! Jeff does 1st class work and still keeps his prices VERY affordable! I waited several months also for him to trick out my norc 14 . The delay was due to his supplier , not him , and when it was all said and done I had one of the best weapons I own ! WELL worth the wait, try to be patient , you wont be disappointed .

When I was living in Pet I went to Jeff's shop a few times to have work done or buy something. He was always helpful and went so far to come to my house to pick up a pistol I wanted parked when I couldn't get an ATT in time before leaving for a month long exercise. Not too many gunsmiths would do that for a customer that wasn't a good friend.

and on that note.....I just dropped by Jeffs shop and dropped off my M14 so I can get the SOCOM conversion. He told me upfront that it'll be september at the earliest before he gets to work on it.He showed me one that is complete , and it looks AWESOME.While I was there,he took the time to show me a couple handguns for sale(I just got my restricted license), and taught me a few thing about re-loading....
As always, I left his shop feeling like I got EXCELLENT customer service....
Cant wait for that rifle!!!
