I did some searching online yesterday & found a mutitude of Valmet's all different variations including the Model I currently own a Semiauto 308Win M-78 & these firearms were being auctioned off for anywhere between 10,000$ & 15,000$ US Dollars. So just curious & in comparison why are they so cheap in Canada. Also how much to sell a Canadian firearm in the US???
I think if it even cost me 1000$ dollars to sell it there I would rather reap the rewards. Retep!!!!

lol. I think you are the only one who thinks a M78 is cheap in Canada. I have owned them as well, but cheap?

The last 308 m78 I was going to import from the states was going to cost about 2k to my door. That was in Oct.

The ones you are looking for stateside for 10-15K are full auto.

You will find that semi m78s are much less in the states then the crazy Canadian prices: http://w w w.gunsamerica.com/956612...-Rifles/Full-Stock/Valmet_Model_78_Sniper.htm

For example. That is the sniper model, and the seller is not in a rush to sell it. He has been listing it for years. I didn't have to look too hard to find one that would cost about 2000 to my door last fall.

Thats why I used the words (IN COMPARISON). But I Know what you mean in the big picture sense of cheap!!! Also I did find some non Class III models that were semi auto for 10,000$, Just surf Valmet & you will find. Retep.

I have a mint m76 .223 wood stock I picked up a few years ago for $550, now they are around $1100 or so. The class 3 are expensive only because we can no longer make them or import them for civilian sales.

An m76 would be a bunch of fun. It is proportioned a bunch better then the 78 IMO.

I agree..I love My 76

The M78 can not be legally imported into the USA. Does not meet 922r considerations and is classed as an assault rifle. Could not get mine added to a Form 6... its too evil to enter the USA.

About a month ago I saw a "very clean" Valmet M78 go for $1,850 on Gunbroker. Several that have starting bids between $2000 and $2500 have zero bids on them.

If anyone is paying $10K for a semi, then I have some townhouses in Florida for them.
