I love Vatro's they are a fantastic shotgun but there is not to much info on them. After some searching and talking with dealers I have a little info and if there is anyone else who knows anything more about these gem's please post.I would like concrete proof.

First Valtro Europe is not the manufacture, they are 100% Benelli built under contract from Valtro Europe. Also that they were marketed as the fastest pump action shotgun in the world. Another weird rumor is that these shotty's where not supposed to be sold to Civilians, and Canada was not supposed to have any. 900 total in North America the majority 20" If someone could clarify some of this for me I would greatly appreciate it as well as a few other Valtro owners. Oh and prices are getting high $1150 to $1500us

I own one. Fell in love with it the second I saw it at a gun show a few months back. I have had a coupla issues with it, though.

#1 The stock's way too long. It hit me just how much longer when I handled a Fabarm and an 870 at a combat pistol course last weekend. And the worst part was that the length of pull was not only too long for me (I measure 5'-6", so I'm used to stuff usually being a tad too bug for me) but it was too long for everyone else who shouldered the Valtro as well.

#2 I had the mag jam up on me while shooting it. It was, however, loaded with 2-3/4" plastic-cased shot shells. I dunno if that had anything to do with it. Shooting brass-cased shells has never caused this issue.

I intend to shorten the stock by a coupla inches and run 50 or so rounds of 3" #2 or bigger shells to make sure she's not suffering from any dependability issues. I also want to swap out the front sight for the one I saw on the Fabarm. It was awesome, sight acquisition was phenomenal. I think it was Willieno5's shotty, am I right guys?

peter277200,

I love m Valtor, though like you I find the stock a little bit long. I really want to put a Knoxx SpecOps stock on it. I have one on my 870 and have been thinking of taking an afternoon and trying to fit it on my Valtro...of course this has been on my to do list for over a year and I never seem to get around to it...one of these days.

I have long arms so it fit's me well, but it is long. As for feeding issues I have not had one prob yet I load 2 3/4 and 3" in one mag and they always chamber. Now that i have 2 I was thinking of either overhauling the 14" with some custom work $$$ or selling it for a 870p or XCS build. I love the valtro's great mil spec firearm and collector. They also just look nasty:evil:

I'm gonna be taking a look at shortening the stock this long weekend. As well, I wanna bevel the magazine well and the top of the forward part of the mag itself (there's a rectangular piece there, the bottom of it is what locks the mag in place up front). All this in an affort to increase my mag-insertion times.

It's embarrassing, actually. Watching me try to load this shotty in my shamefully slow procedure, you'd prolly shoot me to put me outta YOUR misery. LOL

I'm hell-bent on proving to myself that it's due to the sharp edges in the magwell etc.... :p

PS: Doesn't the folder stock along with 14" barrel make the Valtro restricted?

a butler creek side folder from a 870 puts you damn close.... how close? make sure you put the sling plate back in between the stock and action.

Good luck cutting the stock down... she's 100% hollow... now if you bought a 870-AR adjustable stock and ground the mounting surface to fit onto the valtro you would have one bad ass looking/functioning weapon.

Promac where did you score that kick ass muzzle attachment and how much$.

S&J has a nice break/breacher universal fit.... all you would need is to get someone with a tap for the metric threads to spin a few out and put a price on it...

about every 2 months like clockwork someone starts a "wish i had a folder for my valtro" thread and i keep suggesting S&J make an adapter like they have for the fabarm's to take an 870 stock... all we have to do is show the demand is there and it will be done... or get out the dremmel and start cutting on a $180 Knoxx till it hopefully fits....

All your complaints about the long stocks got me curious. After compairing my shotguns, I found something interesting. The valtro length of pull is exactly the same as most every regular-length Rem 870 out there (under 14"). The problem is that the pump is over 2" further ahead than a 870 with a LE forend (3.5" vs full length 870 forearm). I guess the design team all had long pumping arms...

LOLOL, yeah, I know. I had the shotty out of the trunk of my car, ready to start a choppin' and 1st compared it to my 870, the damned things are equal in LOP. So I stuck the shotty back in the trunk and swept the floor of the garage instead.....

valtro

i had a valtro
i sold it
they are great with 3 inch shells but jam occaisionally on 2 3/4
but this is my point, semi auto is the way to go
id rather have a good semi than a great pump!
