Value - Browning A-5 "Twenty"

I am hoping someone can help me figure out the value of a gun I have had in the safe for a while. I inherited it and never shoot it but it was shot before I got it.

I have a Browning A-5 "Twenty" 20GA, 2 3/4 made in Belgium

From the serial number and the markings on the barrel I have been able to find out it was a 1958 model with full choke. My understanding is, this is the first year of the twenty.

I'll attach a few pics, Any help would be appreciated.

That there is a mighty nice specimen.
Not drilled for strap attachments too.
These fetch premium moohlah in collector condition.
I've seen them listed near a couple g's with btt.
I'd guess a $1000 plus.
Doesn't look like she's bin molested judging by the screws.
There are taste buds for this gal.
I've got the same year in a 20, but not near the condition your's is.
Then again, I don't fret taking it out on the quad for trips in the bush.

Toss more pictures up including the rear bottom of the forewood.

It looks to be a standard 20 not a lightweight. It looks to be in great shape .I sold one last year for 650$ in about the same shape .lightweights bring a little more . Dutch

Don't attempt to take it apart and don't shoot steel shot in it... A collector would be happy to have that... it is in excellent non bubbaed condition.. In the US they go for much more but in Canada I would guess about a $1000 if you find the right guy...

I would not take less then $800 for that one, the full choke might take the value down a bit. IC and MOD choke get a bit of a premium in the 20ga A-5's

It is in very nice condition. If I was selling it would be $1000 to start and go from there if you have to

Z code = Light 20 Gauge
X code = Standard 20 Gauge
Only way I know how to tell for sure but I know little about these and only kept one a sweet 16ga

I recently purchased a 1969 mag twenty with an ic barrel and a mod barrel in i would say similar condition, paid 950

So this one has Z as second character in serial. So would that make it a light 20 then?

yes the z would make it a light twenty, my 12 guage 1960 a5 has " magnum twelve" on the reciever and the 20 ga i have clearly says " magnum twenty", and i have seen plenty with "light twelve" im surprised it isnt marked on reciever "light twenty" or did they not do that with the twentys that early?

Up goes another on the EE for $1800. At least this one is a two barrel set. Everyone on this thread, including myself definitely missed the memo on 20g values
