Some food for thought, the ZF 6x42 scopes tend to be used on some interesting platforms. If yours is calibrated for the "M14" round, that could mean one of a few possibilities:
1. BDC is in .308 / 7.62 Nato (I think 144 gr but not 100%)
2. Your ZF95 was mounted on an Isreali M14 (IDF M21s used ZF95 glass with above BDC turrets)
3. Your ZF95 was mounted on another gun using a .308 / 7.62 Nato chambering (military configured Steyr SSG 69s, Isreali mausers converted to 7.62 x 51 and scoped for sniping / dmr use, HK MSG 90s with ZF 95s as factory glass, etc.)
Some features and cosmetic details of scope could tell a better tale: is the tube 1" or 26mm (I think ZF95s are traditionally a 26mm tube, is there a big difference between the two tube diameters, some people say no, some yes) what is the reticle style (duplex, mildot, or bdc style are common on these) and something as silly as the colour / paint on the scope (olive drab paint is common on IDF M21 scopes, dull grey like parkerizing is common for SSG 69s, etc.) If yours seen British Army use though, I wonder what it would have mounted on (L96 sniper rifles used Hensoldt Glass originally.)
Overall, my first guess screams IDF M21 use and someone in the UK got a hold of it but YMMV. Got any pics?
