I am posting this rifle for a member who does not enjoy interfacing with a computer. I have shot the rifle and it was very accurate, shooting off sand bags at 50 yards, and functioned as it should.
He wishes to sell the rifle and is asking for help on putting a fair value on it. Internet searching typically brings us US sites indicating the 12 C is the more desirable of the A, B, & C models with prices all over the place.

Photo one shows the minor crack in the stock, photo two shows a small chip in the stock, the rest should show a rifle in surprizing good condition for its age. Light freckling. Serial #685###

This rifle will be put up for sale on the EE.

Thanks for your help

Bob

Thanks for your input so far. If there's anyone else that can give more info it would be most welcome. I'm a Gunnutz member and have being watching over the past year and I have seen this make of gun go up for sale before for more money than $275.00. Of course I can't tell if they're getting that or not. I just paid $350.00 for a new, low end cz and there's nothing great or interesting about it. Being that this is a somewhat rare and old gun, I would have thought it would be worth more.

Condition and Canadian market dictates the value.
In the pics, I see a crack through the wrist and a chip. Metal shows about 50% blue with many marks.
It's a usable rifle, not a collector. The value stated above is pretty much in the ballpark.

gunrunner100 is correct. It is condition you have to look at. I have a model 12C that I probably wouldn't sell you at $400.00. But it's in 2 or 3 times the condition compared to the one you showed. I bought another 12C that's close to like the one you show. It was under $200.00. As far as the EE, I have seen 2 other guns sell in the last year on here for $250.00 or under. Of course there are other examples that go higher. But in this case we are talking approximate value for the example shown. But, that really means nothing. It all comes down to what the buyer is willing to pay and that is where you go by how badly you want it. Notice in my value I said give or take. If you are happy paying more than $275.00 for the particular rifle, then certainly go ahead and buy it. Bottom line is as long as the buyer is happy that's all that matters.
And yes, asking prices are not true selling prices.
I see you stated that you are trying to find a value as your friend wants to sell the gun in question. If you feel it's worth a lot more than $275.00 then list it for whatever you want. Maybe he'll get lucky and find a buyer that will pay. The worse that could happen is he'll never sell it.

Thanks guys, for your input. I do appreciate your time. I'm getting a better idea on how to look at using this medium. I for one don't like to haggle. I buy it or not, mostly because if I don't know the true value of the item I don't wish to put people off by being way out there on value. Thanks again for your help.

U list it for what ever u want most guys do after they post a what's it worth thread and disregard any of the comments made . There are many examples of over priced guns on EE . Some are approching 10,000 views and they still let it sit there . The ration of guns that sell to the ratio of numbers listed is very small . Lots of comments like last price drop , or one more bump then it's going back in the safe . The bottom line is very few people on gun nuts know how to evaluate a price on a gun. Just saying .!
